From 19 to 23 May, Vice President Xu Haiyang led a delegation of five people to visit the Russian People's Friendship University and Moscow National Normal University. Lv Lijie, Minister of Education of NENU, Lin Zhengjun, Dean of School of Foreign Languages, and relevant personnel from School of History and Culture as well as International Cooperation and Exchange Department of NENU were accompanied on the visit.
During the visit to the Russian People's Friendship University, the Vice President of Foreign Affairs of the University, Serikova, met with the delegation. During the talks, she spoke highly of the fruitful joint training program for Chinese majors in the two universities, and thanked NENU for its efforts. She hoped that, on the basis of existing cooperation, the two schools would continue to expand practical cooperation in the fields of education, Russian Language and Literature, Russian history and other fields such as dual degrees training for students, teacher exchanges and scientific research.
At the meeting, the members of the delegation introduced their subjects and discussed their cooperation intentions with the subject leaders of Friendship University to clarify the next step of cooperation.
During his visit to Moscow National Normal University, Dozenko, the president's foreign affairs adviser, met with the delegation. The two sides expressed their joint efforts to promote cooperation between the Shanghai Cooperation Organization University and the Sino-Russian Federation of Educational Universities, and to form a preliminary plan for the cooperation of the two universities in the fields of Russian Language and Literature, Pedagogy and Russian History, such as dual degrees training for students, teacher exchanges and academic research.
