Recently, at the invitation of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and Okayama University, a delegation of NENU to Japan Preparatory School for Overseas Students (Training for Overseas Students of Ministry of Education) visited Japan for a working visit. During the visit, the delegation visited MEXT, Tokyo Foreign Studies University and Okayama University.
Hiroko Fukushima, Deputy Minister of MEXT, met with the delegation. The delegation briefed introduced her on the running of preparatory schools for Overseas students from China to Japan. Fukushima said that the MEXT has always attached great importance to the preparatory schools for Chinese students studying abroad in Japan, and has made positive comments on the role played by the preparatory schools in the educational exchanges between China and Japan over the past 40 years. She also said that she would convey the greetings and invitations of the delegation to Chaishan Changyan, who is the Minister of MEXT. Furthermore, she expressed that she would actively coordinate and participate in the preparations for the fortieth anniversary celebration of Preparatory School for Overseas Students from China to Japan. She will take this opportunity to further promote educational exchanges between the two countries. In addition, the delegation had an in-depth exchange of views with the relevant heads of MEXT on the dispatch of overseas students and the scholarship of doctoral programs of MEXT.
