On March 9, NENU held a video conference on undergraduate teaching in the spring semester of 2020, and made a comprehensive deployment of key work of this semester. A total of 137 people attended the conference, including Vice President Guo Jianhua, members of the school's supervisory team, vice presidents of various colleges (departments) in charge of undergraduate teaching (experimental teaching), academic secretaries and all staff of the Academic Affairs Office. First of all, Wei Min summed up the two-week online teaching work from three aspects: the progress of online teaching in our school, quality survey, and suggestions and requirements. A total of 1,228 teachers have been teaching online, 2,586 online classrooms have been opened, and 103,786 persons have participated in online teaching activities with 14,552 students. Online teaching is running smoothly and orderly, and the expected teaching objectives are basically achieved. He emphasized that the improvement of online "teaching and learning" ability is a common challenge faced by teachers and students. Front-line teachers should strive to improve the technical level of online teaching, but they should pay more attention to how to use the advantages of online technical methods to focus on "stimulating students' learning motivation" and "improving students' independent learning ability", and put forward specific suggestions on how to further strengthen learning guidance and continuous improvement of teaching. The relevant person in charge of the Academic Affairs Office conducted a comprehensive interpretation of other key tasks of this semester.
Guo Jianhua made a concluding speech. He emphasized that the novel coronavirus epidemic has brought unprecedented challenges to undergraduate teaching, but also provided an opportunity to promote the deep integration of information technology and education and teaching. He put forward three requirements for the further improvement of online teaching. First is to improve the political position, to carry out online teaching at the height of educating talents for the Party and the state, and pay attention to the knowledge of epidemic prevention and the meritorious deeds in fighting epidemic so as to give full play to educational function of curriculum; the second is to formulate a teaching plan, prepare for the undergraduate teaching work for 4 weeks, 6 weeks or even longer, and coordinate and link with other work of the college, especially to pay attention to the personal needs of each student; third, we must focus on the deepening of reforms. During the epidemic, the online teaching level and ability of our school teachers have been significantly improved, but we still need to actively sum up experience and laid a solid foundation for the next step of building a national online and offline mixed teaching gold courses; finally, he also made arrangements for the implementation of the "Action Plan for Revitalizing High-Level Undergraduate Education", comprehensive reform of undergraduate teaching, revision of a new version of the talent training program, first-class major construction, normal major authentication, first-class courses construction, cultivation of top innovative talents, and construction of smart learning spaces.
