NENU's Designated Poverty Alleviation Training for English Teachers of Primary Schools in Tongyu County Concluded Successfully

On June 7th, NENU's designated poverty alleviation training for English teachers of primary schools in Tongyu county was successfully concluded. A total of more than 110 English teachers of primary schools in Tongyu County participated in the training, and over 800 trainees participated online.

This training activity for English teachers in primary schools was jointly organized by the Academic Affairs Office, the School of Foreign Languages, the Office of Affiliated Schools and other departments. NENU attached great importance to this training, which closely combined the current hot issues of primary school English teaching and research with the current situation and needs of primary school English education in Tongyu County in order to make targeted training plan. University professional teachers explained the practice from the theoretical perspective to help teachers acquire theoretical knowledge while developing their own teaching practice; primary school expert teachers introduced their own teaching practice to promote trainees’ teaching practice. The training content included teaching and scientific research under the guidance of the embodiment perspective on language, scaffolding instruction, core literacy of English subject, cultivation of thinking quality, improvement of class teaching, teaching under the linguistic perspective, etc.. Professor Lin Zhengjun, Professor Liu Liyan, Associate Professor Xu Xiaomei, Associate Professor Yu Xiucheng from the School of Foreign Languages of NENU were invited to give lectures to the trainees. Sun Weihua (a senior teacher and special grade teacher) and Jin Haiwei (backbone teacher of the province) were the keynote speakers. The class was presided over by Associate Professor Lu Dan and Associate Professor Xu Wenxiu from the School of Foreign Languages of NENU.
