On September 10th, the results of the 2020 Teachers’ Mien Short Video Award were announced. The video "From Graduate Tutor to Grandpa of Left-behind Children" submitted by the Alumni Office in the name of the Northeast Normal University Alumni Association was selected as the winning work. This video records the touching story of Wan Weiming, a 1977-grade mathematics department alumnus of our school and the professor at the Faculty of Science of Dalian Jiaotong University, who taught in impoverished areas in Guizhou after retirement. His deeds not only reflect the teacher's responsibility to help alleviate poverty, but also reflect the dedication of retired teachers. He is a typical representative of countless outstanding teachers.
The 2020 Teacher’s Mien Short Video Award is to celebrate the 36th Teacher’s Day. In July this year, the Ministry of Education released the "Announcement on Carrying out the 2020 Teacher’s Mien Short Video Collection Activity". The Department of Teachers’ Work of the Ministry of Education and China Education Television, the China Teachers Development Foundation and China Education Development Foundation widely collected short videos representing the new-era outstanding teachers. The activity has aroused a strong interest in society, attracting teachers and students, parents and some people from all walks of life to actively participate and contribute. Nearly 3000 works were collected for the event. After technical screening and expert review, 40 winning works and 90 shortlisted works were finally selected. The winning and shortlisted works will be shown on China Education Network TV.
