From December 12th to 13th, the 45th ICPC (International College Student Programming Contest) Asia Regional Competition in Shanghai hosted by Shanghai University was held online. After screening through the online competition, more than 2500 players and coaches from 678 teams from universities in mainland China, Hong Kong and other countries and regions participated in the competition. A total of two teams in NENU have obtained official qualifications, and two teams have obtained the qualifications for star ranking (the teams qualified for star ranking do not participate in the ranking). After 5 hours of fierce competition, the team (members: Class of 2019 Gao Heran, Chen Yinru, Duan Muduo) guided by teacher Luo Na of the School of Information Science and Technology won the bronze award, and the team guided by Wang Yiyuan (members: Class of 2019 Ye Yihang, Zhang Ying, Jiang Zijian) won the award of excellence.
With the largest number of participants, the ICPC (International University Programming Contest) is recognized as the world’s largest, highest-level, programming competition for international college students. Its purpose is to enable college students to use computers to fully demonstrate their ability to analyze and solve problems. Since 1970, the competition has been successfully held for 44 sessions. Because the previous competitions have gotten elites from all continents of the world together and gathered the “stars of hope” in the field of computer, it has caught the eyes of well-known international universities and attracted great attention of many famous computer companies worldwide such as Microsoft, IBM, Google, Huawei, Baidu, Tencent, Alibaba etc. The ICPC has become the most influential international computer competition for university students from all over the world. The certificates issued by ICPC are also recognized by famous computer companies and universities in the world.
