Recently, the 6th China Collegiate Programming Contest (Weihai station) was successfully held on the online platform of Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai). After fierce competition, the team (majors of computer science and technology from Grade 2019: Gao Heran, Duan Muduo, Chen Yinru) under the guidance of Associate Professor Wang Yiyuan won the bronze prize.
China Collegiate Programming Contest (CCPC) is an annual discipline competition for college students in China, which is sponsored by the Teaching Guiding Committee for Computer Majors of the Ministry of Education. It aims to stimulate students' interest in learning computer knowledge and skills, encourage students to use computer knowledge and skills to solve practical problems actively and flexibly, effectively improve algorithm design, logical reasoning, mathematics modeling, programming and computer system ability, and cultivate the sense of teamwork, challenge spirit and innovation ability.
In 2020, CCPC has set up four sub stations: Qinhuangdao station (October 17-18), Weihai station (October 24-25), Mianyang station (October 31-November 1) and Changchun station (November 7-8), which are respectively organized by Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao, Harbin University of Technology (Weihai), Southwest University of Science and Technology and Changchun University of Science and Technology. For the need of epidemic prevention and control, the CCPC sub-station competitions are changed from on-site competition to internet-based distribution competition, and the final will be held in Beijing at the right time. There are more than 400 colleges and universities, more than 3,500 teams participated in the online selection competition on September 20. Finally, 386 teams from 152 colleges and universities nationwide participated in Weihai sub-station competition.
