Recently, the winners of the Group Programming Ladder Tournament of the sixth China Collegiate Computing Contest were announced. Three teams of our school participated in the competition, which were guided by teachers Zhou Zhiguo, Luo Na, Wang Yiyuan and Li Hongbo from the School of Information Science and Technology. After three hours’competition, these three teams won one national team bronze award, one provincial team silver award and two bronze awards. Four students won the national first prize, two students won the national second prize and twelve students won the national third prize.
China Collegiate Computing Contest-Group Programming Ladder Tournament is a competition jointly sponsored by the Teaching Steering Committee of Computer Major, the Teaching Steering Committee of Software Engineering Major, the Teaching Steering Committee of College Computer Course and the National Computer Education Research Association of Colleges and Universities. It aims to promote inter-school communication, improve the teaching of programming, cultivate students' ability to use computers to analyze and solve problems, and enhance students' sense of teamwork and comprehensive quality. The competition is divided into basic questions, advanced questions and summit questions. Ten people form a team, and each member of the team completes their own questions independently. During the competition, it is necessary to implement the strategy formulated by the instructor, and compete for the team award through the total score of the team. Each school takes the three teams with the best scores to compete for the group award.
A total of 1,100 teams from 347 universities, including Zhejiang University, Peking University and our school, participated in the competition. The whole process was automatically evaluated and checked by computers.
