Recently, recommended by the Science and Technology Department of Jilin Province, the works “Migrant Birds, Resident Birds and Straggler Birds” and “The Story of Tomtit” of teachers Wang Tuo, Chen Zhihong and their team of the Natural Science Museum in NENU won the second prize and third prize of the “2019 National Science Popularization Micro Video Competition” respectively. This is the second time for teachers in NENU to have won the awards for science popularization after the “2018 National Science Popularization Micro Video Competition”.
The 2019 National Science Popularization Micro Video Competition, jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is the highest award for science popularization micro video in China. The purpose of this event is to fully implement Xi Jinping’s thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, deeply carry out the innovation-driven development strategy, and promote the implementation of key tasks in the construction of science popularization and innovation culture. After formal review, expert review, and online publicity, 99 excellent works were finally selected from 655 science popularization micro video nationwide, among which 5 works were recommended by the Jilin Provincial Department of Science and Technology.
During the Science and Technology Week of Jilin Province on May 22nd, Jia Xiaodong, deputy director of the People’s Congress of Jilin Province, and An Lijia, deputy governor of the provincial government, presented awards to teachers of NENU.
