On May 7th, the 6th National College Student Art Performance Instrumental Music Special was held at the Chengdu City Concert Hall. A total of 37 instrumental music programs from various universities across the country participated in the performance. The Youth Symphony Orchestra of NENU won the first prize in this event.
The repertoire for this performance is the orchestral “Song of the Century” created by Professor Xu Zhitong from the Composition Department of the Central Conservatory of Music. It aims to praise the brilliant achievements of the country under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party. All teachers and students of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of NENU meticulously prepared, carefully rehearsed, and theatrically presented their works with full enthusiasm, expressing their infinite love for the Communist Party of China and their blessings for the prosperity of the motherland.
The Youth Symphony Orchestra of NENU was established in 2000, with Professor Yin Aiqing of the School of Music as the head and Associate Professor Jiang Baojun as the standing conductor. Over the years, the orchestra has actively participated in various performances at home and abroad, inside and outside the province, and has gone deep into universities and primary and secondary schools in Jilin Province to actively carry out the “Elegant Art Entering Campus” activity to build campus culture in different schools in Jilin Province and has made positive contributions to promote Chinese music culture.
