On May 28-29, our school hosted the 2021 Jilin Undergraduate Physics Tournament. The opening ceremony and the competition are conducted online.
On the 28th, the opening ceremony of the competition was held online. The opening ceremony was presided over by Fu Shencheng, deputy dean of the School of Physics of our school. Ma Ji, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office of our school, and Miao Qi, secretary-general of Jilin Science and Technology Education Association attended and delivered speeches. Xu Liufang, the chief referee from the School of Physics of Jilin University, interpreted the rules of the competition. More than 60 volunteers provided online services for the competition. Subsequently, representatives of 28 participating teams from 14 universities conducted online lottery sorting.
On the 29th, the tournament officially started. The competition schedule is divided into three rounds and seven venues.Teams on the four branches of each venue act as pros, opponents, commentators and observers, and discuss, debate and summarize a physical subject from a professional perspective. The performance of each team is scored strictly by professional judges, and finally judged by the weighted total score. In this competition, our school sent two teams to participate in the competition and won the first prize after fierce competition.
The competition, with "collaborative innovation" as the fundamental concept, aims to improve students' core literacy of physics and enhance students' ability to apply theory and practice. At the same time, the interactive communication during the competition is conducive to the cultivation of the thinking ability and teamwork ability of students and play a role in promoting the cultivation of physics talents in my country.
