From October 30th to 31st, hosted by Shandong University of Technology, the 2021 China Collegiate Student Programming Contest Girls Competition was held online. Participants in the competition were 258 teams from 161 universities including Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Northeast Normal University and many others. The team guided by teacher Zhou Zhiguo from the School of Information Science and Technology of NENU (members are 2019 students Shi Manling, Zhang Ying, Ye Yihang majoring in Educational Technology) and the team guided by Teacher Luo Na (members are 2019 students Liu Tong and Liu Sibo majored in Computer Science and Technology, Wang Yu, majoring in Statistics), havewon two silver medals respectively, which represents the best ever result since NENUparticipated in the CCPC girls competition.
The China Collegiate Programming Contest (CCPC) is an annual disciplinecompetition for college students across the country hosted by the Organizing Committee of the China Collegiate Programming Contest. It aims to stimulate students’ interest in learning computer expertise and skills, and encourage students actively and flexibly use computer knowledge and skills to solve practical problems, effectively improve algorithm design, logical reasoning, mathematical modeling, programming implementation and computer system capabilities, and cultivate teamwork awareness, challenge spirit and innovation ability. In order to encourage more female university students to enter into the IT industry, the special girls competition in the China Collegiate Programming Contest is held every year.
