On December 20th, the 2nd meeting of the 4th Council of the Alumni Association of NENU was held online. Wang Yan, president of the Alumni Association and deputy secretary of the school Party Committee, and Lan Hengbin, vice president of the Alumni Association, deputy secretary of the school Party Committee and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, attended the meeting. All directors and supervisors of Alumni Association, Sun Liwei, Director of the Supervision Department of NENU, Liu Yi, Secretary General and Director of Alumni Affairs Office attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Wang Shuai, deputy secretary general of Alumni Association and deputy director of Alumni Affairs Office.

First of all, Liu Yi made a work report to the Council on behalf of the Secretariat. He reported the work of the alumni association in 2022 from four aspects: helping NENU fight against the epidemic, serving the school development, playing a leading role in politics, and cultivating the alumni culture of NENU. The report specifically mentioned that since the outbreak of the epidemic in March this year, Alumni Associations in various places have actively organized alumni and mobilized social forces to support the school in fighting against the epidemic. A total of 1,198 donations of 2.94 million yuan and 13 batches of donated materials worth 1.78 million yuan have made positive contributions to the smooth development of the epidemic prevention and control work in NENU.
Lan Hengbin, on behalf of the Alumni Association, read out the Decision on Commending Local Alumni Associations Who Have Made Outstanding Contributions to the Prevention and Control of the Epidemic of NENU, and commended 18 local alumni associations, including Hangzhou Alumni Association, Hainan Alumni Association, Chongqing Alumni Association and Shenzhen Alumni Association, for their contributions during the NENU’s fight against the epidemic.
Subsequently, the council deliberated and approved the proposal to add Jiang An, an 1980 grade alumnus of the School of Politics and Law of NENU, president of the Shenzhen Alumni Association, professor and doctoral supervisor of Shenzhen University, as the vice president of the Northeast Normal University Alumni Association.
Finally, Wang Yan made a concluding speech on behalf of the Council. He affirmed the alumni association’s continuous efforts during the critical period of the epidemic in the past year, its help in serving the school development, and its practice and achievements in cultivating alumni culture in combination with daily work. He pointed out that doing a good job in alumni’s work is of great significance for rallying the wisdom and strength of alumni, boosting the better and faster development of school and helping alumni develop and progress. He stressed that the next step is to strengthen self-construction, build a high-quality platform, strengthen communication, build a strong emotional foundation, pay attention to the development of NENU, build a platform for alumni communication, gather the wisdom and strength of alumni, strengthen the contact and interaction between alumni and NENU, and offer suggestions and wisdom for the reform and development of NENU.
All the directors have expressed that they should bear in mind the school motto of “be diligent and creative, and live up to the name of teacher” and the spirit of “serving the country, being practical and innovative” , actively play the role of bridge, think tank and coordination, better serve NENU, help alumni, live up to NENU’s trust, and jointly writea new chapter in the development of NENU.
