Northeast Normal University (NENU) is staffed with diligent and creative faculty members of 1, 692 full-time teachers in total, including 544 professors, 648 associate professors, 608 in-service doctoral supervisors, 6 honorary professors, 96 senior professors, 24 part-time professors，33 emeritus professors, 15 visiting foreign professors as well as 28 foreign experts who graduated from world-renowned universities such as Oxford University and the University of Tokyo and teach on a long-term basis.

As a normal university, NENU, under the guidance of the concept of "education of respect, education of creativity", has always taken teaching and learning as the foundation, vigorously carrying out teaching personnel reform, constantly optimizing the process of personnel training, and strengthening the construction of teachers’ work ethics. All of the teachers in NENU attach importance to teaching, and NENU regularly evaluates teaching quality. Taking "the cradle of educators" as a higher goal to pursue, NENU constantly improves the quality of teacher education.

Following the principle of "balancing recruitment and introduction, promoting high-quality development", NENU actively introduces high-level talents, and openly recruits "Dongshi Scholars", including distinguished professors, lecturing professors, and "Fangwu Distinguished Professors", "Fangwu Young Scholars", "Fangwu Young Talents" and so on on the one hand. And on the other hand, NENU attaches importance to the training of in-service teachers and promotes their international exchanges, domestic research visits and degree-oriented further education so that the number of teachers for government-funded overseas study has increased year by year, and their academic level has improved steadily.
