On September 5 morning, ceremonies for students of the year 2005 were held on the main and Jingyue campuses respectively. Present school leaders including Professor Sheng Lianxi, Party Committee Secretary, President Shi Ningzhong and others concerned, previous school leaders, and Academician Hao Shui participated the ceremonies.
There are all together 5,900 students were enrolled in NENU this year, including 3,734 undergraduates, and 2,224 master and PhD postgraduates.
After the solemn national flag raising ceremony, President Shi Ningzhong delivered a key-note welcome speech, in which he expressed his best wishes and congratulations to the new students.
Professor Xu Lin, Dean of School of Chemistry and Professor Wang Lili, Dean of School of Fine Arts, on behalf of teaching and administrative staff and student representatives also made speeches at the ceremonies.
