NENU Leaders Brief Retired Staff on Developments at the School

Published:January 13, 2006 Review:

NENU's Party Secretary Sheng Lianxi and Vice President Liu Yichun gave a briefing to the retired staff at the Retired Staff Activity Center on January, 9th. Their talk covered all aspects of NENU's status in 2005 and included their holiday greetings to the retirees.

In his speech, Secretary Sheng recognized the contributions of retired staff. He emphasized their concern for the greater good in the education effort to keep the Party advanced and their understanding and support in school development, and their role as models in every area. He reviewed the work done in 2005, the financial situation, the 11th "Five-Year Plan"and the implementation of the 12th Party Representative Convention. The retired staff present expressed their appreciation of NENU's success in the inspection of undergraduate education and the school's current state of development. Sheng pointed out that it was under the influence of the fine tradition of NENU's older generation--loving NENU as home--that we have reached today's achievements. He added that the older generation's passion and enterprising spirit will forever be our most precious spiritual treasure.

At the meeting the three sections of the Office of Retirement Affairs-the Party Branch Office of the School of History and Culture, the Party Branch Office of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, and the Administration's Third Party Branch Office-conducted an exchange on the work done in the past year. In addition, the Office of Retirement Affairs summarized their work in 2005.
