During the 2005 national appraisal of science and technology periodicals organized by China Research Society of Natural Science Journals of Higher Education Institutions, Journal of Northeast Normal University (Natural Science) won the title of "Model for Science and Technology Periodicals of Higher Education Institutions", and the proprietor Xu Guoliang was honored "Excellent Editor-in-Chief of Science and Technology Periodicals of Higher Education Institutions".
