The Academic Degree Committee publicized the results of the doctorate program assessment in 2005. Six doctorate programs were required to participate in the assessment. They were: History of CPC, Marxist theory and ideological & political education, Ancient Chinese literature, Modern and contemporary Chinese literature, Japanese language and literature, and Inorganic chemistry. All the programs passed the assessment and can continue conferring doctorate degrees.
From now on, each degree program will be assessed every 6 years. The assessment for doctorate programs will be organized by the Office of Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, and assessments for master's programs by the provincial Academic Degree Committee.
