On March, 19, a forum on National Reform and Development of Teacher Education was held at NENU. The conference covered some significant questions about national teacher education's reform and development.
The conference was presided over by Duputy Minister of Education Chen Xiaoya. The participants were: Guan Peijun (the Director of Ministry of Education's Teacher Education Division), Li Jun (the Deputy Commissioner of the Jilin Educational Commission), Zheng Shiqu (the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Normal University), Yu Lizhong (the President of East China Normal University), Sheng Lianxi and Shi Ningzhong (NENU's Secretary of the Party Committee and President), Ma Min (the President of Centeral China Normal University), Fang Yu (the President of Shaanxi Normal University), Da Zuoling (the Vice President of Nanjing Normal University), Chen Shutao (the President of Harbin Normal University), Zhao Shuhua (the Secretary of the Party Committee of Jilin Normal University), Zhu Yongxin (the Vice Mayor of Suzhou), Tan Songhua (the Vice Chairman of National Education Association), Chen Xiangming (Professor of Pecking University) and relevant personnel from the Ministry of Education's Teacher Education Division and the Jilin Education Commission.
During the conference, the participants expressed their views on some hot issues concerning teacher education. Chen Xiaoya carefully listened to the discussion and gave a closing talk.
