Recently, Professor Huang Yilun (Chairman of Hong Kong Piano Teachers' Association and a Steinway & Sons Pianist) was invited by NENU give lectures. During his visit, Professor Huang taught two demonstration classes to students and teachers from the School of Music at the Music Hall on the main campus. In addition, Professor Huang's student Li Jialing, who, in October 2005, placed sixth in the 15th Frederick Chopin International Piano Competition, held a solo piano recital for the teachers and students.
At the invitation of the School of Music, Professor Liang Baohua from the Hong Kong Institute of Education, who is also the Chief Editor of Asian Pacific Art Education, came to give lectures in NENU. He also gave a talk on the theory and practice of music education in Hong Kong and held an informal discussion with some of the students and teachers from the School of Music.
