Recently, the academic volume "Christian Cultures and Western Literature Traditions" (Pecking University Press, 2005), written by Professor Liu Jianjun from NENU's School of Chinese Language and Literature, was selected for the Chinese Academic Yearbook of 2005 as one of the Outstanding Books of the year in the field of foreign literature. This is yet another academic achievement for NENU's teachers as Professor Wang Yunlong's (from Institute for History of Medieval), work was selected by the Yearbook last year.
The Chinese Academic Yearbook is a state-level multi-disciplinary yearbook which is authoritative and systematic. It is also an advanced and comprehensive evaluation system for academic texts. Every year, the Yearbook introduces the developments in 28 prominent and more than 100 other academic disciplines, covering every field in the humanities and social sciences. Through a strict and careful selection process, the Yearbook fairly, independently and objectively selects a number of Outstanding Works and Scholars each year, thus giving a thorough, systematic summary and record of the developments in humanities and social sciences in China each year.
In addition, at the annual conference of the Foreign Literature Teaching Study Association for National Colleges and Universities held in November, 2005, in Guangzhou, Professor Liu Jianjun was selected as the Vice Chairman of the Association, which is Chaired by the prestigious scholar Ji Xianlin from Pecking University.
