Recently, the Intellectual Property Office of Jilin Province and the Jilin Provincial Invention Association publicized 2006's name lists of the "Top Ten Patent Holders in Jilin Province" and the "Jinlin Province Excellence Award for Patent Holders". NENU's Professor Su Zhongmin from the School of Chemistry was honored as one of the "Top Ten Patent Holders in Jilin Province"; Professor Wang Li from the School of Life Science, Professor Zhang Xueming from the School of Physics and Professor Peng Jun from the School of Chemistry were honored with the "Jinlin Province Excellence Award for Patent Holders".
The "Jinlin Province Excellence Award for Patent Holders" and "Top Ten Patent Holders in Jilin Province" awards aim to carry on the spirit of the National Technology Conference, promote scientific development, encourage invention and creation, enhance the quantity and quality of proprietary intellectual property rights in Jilin Province, and promote the adjustment, reconstruction and invigoration of old industrial bases in Northeastern China. Since 2004, 7 NENU teachers have received these two honors.
