Jilin Literature Society held its 2006 annual conference in NENU from May 20th to May 21st. The conference, on the theme of "Jilin Literature in the Context of Building Socialist Harmonious Society", was attended by more than sixty representatives from the Society, Jilin Provincial Association of Social Sciences, Northeast Normal University, Jilin University, Yanbian University, Jilin Normal University, Changchun Normal University, Changchun University, Baicheng Normal University, Aviation University, Tonghua Normal University and Jilin Provincial Academy of Social Sciences.
Outstanding academic works were selected at the conference after appraisal. NENU got three First Prizes for a monograph and two dissertations and one Excellent Prize for a dissertation.
