Recently, NENU's Vice President Yang Zhong was appointed as a member of the Ministry of Education's Social Science Committee's Academic Ethics Subcommittee and took part in the committee's inaugural meeting. Twenty-seven members of the Committee from different universities and social science research institutions attended the meeting. Minister of Education and Party Secretary of the Education Ministry, Zhou Ji and the Vice Minister Li Weihong presented the letters of appointment.
The formation of the Academic Ethics Committee was ratified by the Ministry of Education in order to promote a process of standardization of academic ethics in universities and improve the quality of social science research. Members of the Academic Ethics Committee were chosen based on their academic level, ethics and based on extensive nominations and an election.
