The opening ceremony for students of Grade 2006 was held on the main campus and JingYue campus on September 7th. Leaders of NENU Sheng Lianxi, Shi Ningzhong, Zhang Zhiguo, Yang Xiaohui, Ma Shang, Liu Haimin, Zhao Ying, Liu Yichun, Su Zhongmin, head of the Labour Union Li Lixin, the Party standing committee member and director of Organization Department Li Jin, president assistant Zhang Guixin, Liu Jianjun, Zhou Daowei, Zhang Shaojie, and relevant responsible staff attended the ceremony.
This year, 6605 students from all over the world will join our university, including 3356 undergraduates, 2037 postgraduates, 887 postgraduates and 325 doctoral candidates.
At the beginning of the ceremony, national flag rising ceremony was held.
President Shi Ningzhong made a speech, in which he briefed new students on history and current condition of NENU and expressed his hope to all students. Professor Wang Li, dean of School of Life Science, and Professor An Yaren, Party Secretary of School of Business made speeches on behalf of teachers, and student representatives also made speeches.
