The fire drill for students of year 2006 was held in No. 1 dormitory of the old campus on Sep. 22nd, which was attended by Yu Xingchang, Deputy Director of Department of Education of Jilin Province, Du Shouliang, Deputy Director-general of Jilin Provincial General Fire Brigade, Sheng Lianxi, Party Secretary of NENU, Zhang Zhiguo, Vice President, Yang Xiaohui, Party Deputy Secretary and Vice President, and vice presidents for public security from provincial colleges as well as persons-in-charge from municipal bureaus of education.
As one of contents of educational training for new students, the fire drill can be held during the military training to enhance the awareness of security, fireproof and first-aid, to create a favorable security environment, and to maintain order as well.
The drill has aroused general concern and has been covered by many medias such as Jilin Daily, Changchun Daily, City Evening News, New Culture Newspaper, Jilin Satellite TV, Jilin Education TV Station, Jilin People’s Broadcasting Station and etc.
