On the morning of Oct. 18th, President Shi Ningzhong met Mr. Li Haowen, Mr. Zheng Naigang of Hong Kong Siyuan Foundation. Yang Xiaohui, Vice-Director of Party Committee, Vice-President, and persons of concerned offices of the school were present in the meeting.
Shi Ningzhong at first expressed appreciations to the Hong Kong Siyuan Foundation for the financial aid to the impoverished students of the school and introduced to the guests on enrollment, education and teaching conditions. Yang Xiaohui introduced the subsidy measures to the impoverished students and graduate employment situation. Li Dongwen, Executive Director of Hong Kong Siyuan Foundation, introduced conditions on the establishment, development and operation condition. The two parties also communicated on the interaction among the students under aid.
Hong Kong Siyuan Foundation was founded by Hong Kong famous enterpriser Chen Zengshou and established "Hong Kong Siyuan Stipend" named after the his university in 15 key universities within the country. In 2005, in order to help needy students especially students from central and west of China smoothly complete their college study, with an aim to support education project, encourage students to study hard, become a useful person and dedicate to the motherland, Hong Kong Siyuan Foundation decided to establish "Siyuan Stipend". The term of the aid is 5 years. The school is the only college with the stipend in the Northeast of China. In 2005, "Siyuan Stipend" aided 20 students in the school with 4000 yuan per capita annually. In 2006, 20 aid quotas were added. At present, a total of 45 students are aided in the school.
