The following information shows the results of two reports compiled by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China: 2006 Chinese Science & Technology Journal Citation Report and 2006 Chinese Journal Citation Report.
The Journal Impact Factors (JIFs) of 2005 NENU's Academic Journal (Natural Sciences Issue) were 0.761 and 0.922, ranking 4th among the nation's multidisciplinary academic journals, 1st among the journals of the nation's comprehensive universities, and 1st among the journals of the nation's teachers' universities.
The total citations of NENU's Academic Journal (Natural Sciences Issue) were 484 and 654 respectively, ranking 15th among the nation's multidisciplinary journals, 8th among the journals of the nation's comprehensive universities, and 1st among the journals of the nation's normal universities.
The Rate of Articles Supported by Funding for NENU's Academic Journal was 1.0 which makes it rank the highest among all of China's multidisciplinary journals.
The 2006 Chinese Science & Technology Journal Citation Report and The Chinese Journal Citation Report did statistical analyses of the major parameters indexes of 1,652 science and technology journals and 6,009 journals respectively. The journals were categorized and ranked according to the indexes. JIF, total citations and Rate of Articles Supported by Funding are crucial parameters when evaluating a journal's utilization, importance, function, status and impact in academic exchanges. NENU's high ranking in these three parameters indicates a steady advancement in its academic quality. At the same time, it reflects the rapid development of NENU's academic level and capacity in scientific research.
