Students of NENU Win the First Prize in the National Colleges and Universities GIS Application Development Contest

Recently, the appraisal of "the 4th National Colleges and Universities GIS Application Development Contest" in 2006 has come to an end. Geographic Information System for Public Service of Asia Winter Games, designed by Peng Hongzhi, Deng Meirong and Huang Lixia, the postgraduate students of College of Urban and Environmental Science of NENU, achieved the first prize. It was an award won by NENU with its debut in the contest, and also the highest honor ever awarded to colleges and universities of the northeastern areas.

"The 4th National Colleges and Universities GIS Application Development Contest" in 2006 was hosted by China Association for Geographic Information System and Center of GIS Industry Chinese Academy of Sciences, and undertaken by Beijing Supermap GIS Technology Corporation. More than 300 groups and over a thousand of people took part in the contest.
