On May 20th, Jilin Science and Technology Activity Week launched commendation of Advanced Popularization Work and the ceremony of awarding the title of Science Popularization Base, was held in front of NENU Natural History Museum.
Leaders from Jilin Province and NENU, such as Han Changbin, Governor of Jilin Province, Qiao Zhengzhong, Vice Governor of Jilin Province, Bie Shengxue, Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Political Consultative Conference, Sheng Lianxi, Secretary of Party Committee of NENU, Zhang Zhiguo, Vice President of NENU, etc. attended the ceremony which was presided over by Feng Wei, Vice Secretary-General of Jilin Provincial Government. Part of the teaching faculty and students of NENU and Jilin Agricultural University also took part in the ceremony.
There are 27 units awarded as "Most Advanced Units", 50 persons as "Most Advanced Individuals" and 14 works as "Excellent Popularization Works" in Jilin Province. Science &Technology Management of NENU was honored as "Most Advanced Unit"; in addition, Prof. Bai Jianying of School of Physics won the title of "Most Advanced Individual". Leaders present on the ceremony presented medals and certificates to representatives of advanced units, individuals and authors of excellent popularization works.
