On May 22nd, the opeing celebration for Institute of Daisaku Ikeda Philosophical Studies was held in NENU, which was attended by many distinguished guests including Senator and Former Vice-President of Soka Gakkai Japan, Chief of Beijing Office of Soka University, Prof. Hou Jianxin, member of the Discipline Accreditation Group of the State Council of Academic Degrees Committee and Governor of School of History of Tianjin Normal University, Shi Ningzhong, President of NENU, Ma Shang, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, Zhang Shaojie, Vice President of NENU, Prof. Zhu Yuan, famous historian.
Mr. Daisaku sent a telegram to congratulate the establishment of the institute. Prof. Shi delivered a speech in which he set a high value on the outstanding contribution made by Mr. Daisaku to promotion of the friendship between China and Japan.
