Recently, “Science Around Us”, a good-sized TV popular science project has been awarded the Second Prize of 2006 National Science and Technology Progress Award. Yu Yong, Li Ming, together with other teachers and students from School of Media Science were actively involved in the production. With three years of research, planning and production, their “Talk About Containers”, one part of the project, has been well-received among their peers and the public.
“Science Around Us” is a TV popular science project, the five years’ production of which has been under the cooperation of NENU, South China Normal University, Shangdong Normal University, Shanghai Education TV, Shangdong Education TV, Jilin Education TV and Ningxia Education TV. Targeting minors, the project is produced in line of daily life on TV. It is aimed to popularize science, promote love of science and determination of exploring science among minors. Since 2002, this TV project has been awarded many prizes by China Association of Education TV, Administration of Radio, Film and Television, China Press and Publication Administration and China Association of Science and Technology.
