In the 2007 "Challenge Cup" Competition of Jilin College Student Extracurricular Academic and Science Works, the 16 works sent by NENU all won the prizes. Works from Li Mu, Tian Qin, and Hu Lanjuan of the School of Life Science won Special Prizes, works from Zhu Xingtao, Yu Juanjuan and Su Zhongwen of the School of Politics and Law, Sun Bo, Gan Lu, Wang Shoujia and etc. won the first prizes. Two works from the School of Chemistry and one from the School of Computer Science, School of Life Science, and School of Education Science won the second prizes. Two works from College of Urban and Environmental Science, two from the School of Computer Science, two from the School of Politics and Law and one from the School of Economics won the third prizes. The school ranked the first with a total score of 620, and won the highest prize "Challenge Cup". The school was honored "Excellent Organizing Model". Yang Xiaohui, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee and Vice-President was awarded the prize of "Excellent Work". Teachers of the school Liu Bao, Wang Deli, Hu Haibo, Hu Minxian, and Wang Wenyong were awarded as "Excellent Tutor".
