Recently, NENU held International Academic Seminar for 2007 Sino-U.S. Library Cooperation and Development, co-sponsored by NENU and Association of Chinese American Librarians. The theme of the seminar is "Cooperation and Development- Face the Challenge from Digital Technology upon Library". 116 representatives from 41 companies home and abroad attended this seminar.
During this seminar, three experts of library science from Association of Chinese American Librarians made an elaborate introduction to attendants about recent practical activities, service concept and the current situation of information education. Besides, Attendants communicated on the model and experience of digital libraries of China and U.S. and held a discussion about the direction of library's development in digital environment and the library service and education model adapted to development of digitalized age.
