A key program―A Research on the Statistical Method in Biomedical Engineering, funded by National Natural Science Funds and jointly undertaken by School of Mathematics and Statistics of NENU and Peking University etc, recently was approved for the midterm evaluation.
The midterm evaluation conference was held in the conference room on the fourth floor of School of Mathematics and Statistics. Experts and scholars from University of Illinois, Yale University and University of Science and Technology of China etc, together with President Shi Ningzhong, Vice president Xue Kang and assistant to President and Director of Science & Technology Office Feng Jiang attended the meeting, which was hosted by heads of the Mathematics and Physics Department of National Natural Science Foundation of China.
At the meeting, program leader, Shi Ningzhong, presented a detailed report of the progress and achievements that the program had made, and introduced the focus of future research. Then the expert panel held talks about the report and evaluation. They thought highly of the research being carried out, achievements made by the project group, and in particular the finding of a new researching perspective in the statistical study of traditional Chinese medicine. An excellence was awarded by the panel for this midterm evaluation, and proposals were also made for future research and work.
