From October 20th to 21st, the seminar on basic educational curriculum reform of Mathematics was hosted by School of Education Science and School of Mathematics and Statistics of NENU in the 3rd floor conference hall in Tian Jiabing Education College. More than 40 specialists and scholars attended the seminar. They were from the Ministry of Education, Beijing Normal University, East China Normal University, Nanjing Normal University, South West University, Shaanxi Normal University, Northeast Normal University and other universities and units. President Shi Ningzhong and President Assistant and Chief of Academic Affairs Gao Hang attended the seminar. Shi Ningzhong gave the opening speech.
The aim of the seminar is to make preparations for the 11th International Conference on Mathematics Education (ICME) in Mexico in 2008. On the conference, China will introduce the reform and development of the Mathematics education in our country. One of the subjects is the development of Educational Curriculum Reform of Mathematics.
The participants had a further discussion on the subject of basic educational curriculum reform in our country at the seminar. Shi Ningzhong, Gao Hang, Ma Yunpeng, altogether 16 specialists and scholars gave important speeches.
