Recently, President Shi Ningzhong visited Spain with persons in charge of International Cooperation and Exchanges and College of International Students Education to attend the Unveiling Ceremony of Confucius Institute of Universitat de València.
After the Confucius Institute of Korean Dong-A university, the Confucius Institute of Universitat de València is the second Confucius Institute co-sponsored by NENU and a foreign university. With an emphasis on lectures concerning Chinese teaching and Culture, the institute will be of great help to the people in Valencia who are interested in Chinese or Chinese culture.
Before the Unveiling Ceremony, President Shi Ningzhong had a meeting with President Francisco Tomás of Universitat de València and exchanged their opinions on the communication of teachers and students and co-operative research between the two universities.
Universitat de València is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in Spain with a history of more than 500years and enrollment of more than 60000 students. The Confucius Institute provides opportunities for the students and teachers in NENU to learn and study in Spain.
