Recently, three new degree conferring programs have been approved by Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, PRC. They include two Ph. D conferring programs --- Teacher Education (a secondary discipline under the primary discipline of Education), Folklore of Northeast Minority (a secondary discipline under the primary discipline of History), and one master’s degree program Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (a secondary discipline under the primary discipline of Chinese Language and Literature).
