Teachers of NENU Win Awards in the Seventh “Opera Rinata” International Vocal Music Competition

Published:June 14, 2008 Review:

Recently, the seventh “Opera Rinata” international vocal music (including art songs, baroque, and Rinata Opera) competition held in Italy came to an end. Eighty-five contestants from Italy, Greek, Spain, German, Ukraine, Brazil, Poland, Japan, South Korea, and our country took part in the competition. Liu Xiaofei, Associate Professor in School of Music of our university, stood out in performance from all the contestants and won the second prize in art songs singing contest. Moreover, she was also invited to sing a song named “Chanson d’A more” (song of love) in the concert for the awards-winning contestants to extend condolences to and sympathies for all the Chinese suffering lately from a devastating earth quake. Professor Liu is the only Chinese prize-winning contestant in this year’s competition.
