On July 1st, 2008 Graduation and Degree-Issuing Ceremonies of NENU were held on Old Campus and Jingyue Campus respectively. Leaders of NENU, Sheng Lianxi, Shi Ningzhong, Zhang Zhiguo, Xue Kang, Yang Xiaohui, Ma Shang, Liu Haimin, Zhao Ying, Liu Yichun, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and former President of NENU, Hao Shui, President Assistant Gao Hang, Deputy Chief Accountant Geng Qiuhua attended the ceremony, which was presided over by Zhang Junhui, President Assistant and Director of University office.
5634 students including 185 Ph.D. students, 1829 M.A. students and 3620 undergraduates completed their education programs and graduated from NENU this year.
Liu Yichun, Vice Chairman of the Academic Degree of Evaluation Committee and Vice President, read out the decision on approving the students of 2008 of their graduation and awarding degrees to them. Shi Ningzhong, President of NENU and Chairman of the Academic Degree of Evaluation Committee awarded the degrees and issued the certificates to the representatives of graduates. Yang Xiaohui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President, declared the decision on commending 2008 excellent undergraduates and postgraduates.
On the same day, 2008 Graduation and Degree-issuing Ceremonies for overseas students were held in the Reporting Room on the second floor of the library on old campus. Leaders of NENU, Shi Ningzhong, Liu Yichun, Zhang Shaojie attended the ceremony.
51 overseas students studying for degree and 117 studying for further improvements completed their education programs and graduated from NENU successfully this year.
