From September 29th to 30th, 2008 water resource and water environment & the 6th international symposium on sustainable sanitation was held in NENU. The symposium was sponsored by School of Urban and Environmental Sciences and Key Laboratory for Wetland Ecology and Vegetation Restoration of National Environmental Protection of NENU and co-organized by Japan Science and Technology Agency, Hokkaido University and Tokyo Institute of Technology. More than 60 experts and scholars attended the meeting. They were from Japan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Philippines and domestic universities such as Nanjing University, Jilin University, Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology and NENU.
Centering on issues of water resource and water environment, latest research achievements on ecological infrastructure were introduced in the symposium. Experts also had an in-depth exploration of the current situation, scientific measures and protection of water resource and water environment.
