Recently, Ministry of Science and Technology of China has finished the review of the pilot studies of "973 Program". As the first undertaking unit of the program "Study on the Changes and Detection Control of Regional Ecological Environment", NENU received 8.5 million RMB budget fund.
The program includes 13 research projects which are undertaken by 13 institutes respectively. These institutes include NENU, Institute of Applied Ecology, CAS, Institute of Geochemistry, CAS, Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, CAS, Xiamen University etc. As a first undertaking unit, NENU is responsible for the coordination and management of the program.Professor Feng Jiang from its College of Urban and Environmental Science is the coordinator of the program.
