Recently, sponsored by the Communist Youth League of Jilin Provincial Committee, Department of Education of Jilin Province, Jilin Association for Science and Technology and Jilin Student's Federation and organized by NENU, the final round of 2009 "Challenge Cup" (Jilin) Competition of College Students' Extracurricular Academic and Scientific Achievements was held. All the 28 entries of NENU received awards: 2 Special Awards, 3 First Prize, 5 Second Prize, 6 Third Prize and 15 Excellent Awards, all of which enabled NENU to gain a high score of 820 and win the highest honor of the competition-"Challenge Cup". Besides, 9 professors from College of Urban and Environmental Sciences and School of Life Sciences were awarded Best Instructors.
Provincial leaders and leaders from NENU and other institutions of higher education in Changchun were present at the award ceremony and awarded the prize-winning units and contestants.
This year’s "Challenge Cup" (Jilin) lasted three months. A total of 197 entries from 26 colleges in Jilin participated in the competition, covering academic fields such as mechanics & engineering, information technology, life science, economics, sociology etc. It has got the largest number of participative colleges and entries ever since the first competition.
