Recently, Professor Shi Ningzhong was awarded the Fifth National Outstanding University Teacher Prize for his great contribution in teaching and personnel training in institutions of higher education.
Ministry of Education has started its program of selecting and commending 100 outstanding university teachers every three years since 2003. In January 2007, this prize was incorporated into the program �Quality and Reform of Undergraduate Teaching in Institutions of Higher Education. Since then it was held annually.
Up until now, three teachers in NENU have won the prize.
