On October 17th, the celebration for the 100th anniversary of the founding of Chinese Geographic Society was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. At the celebration ceremony, Professor Chen Cai from College of Urban and Environmental Science of NENU won the Outstanding Achievement Award in Chinese Geographical Science.
The Outstanding Achievement Award in Chinese Geographical Science was established by Chinese Geographical Society as a life achievement award for commending scientists who have made great contribution to geographical science. There are altogether 25 winners throughout China, among whom Professor Cheng Cai is the only one in the northeast region of the geographical science field.
