In the preliminary round of the 6th Chinese Universities Shakespeare Festival (CUSF) held lately, the King Lear performed by NENU's team has won the recognition and praise of the judges and finally survived the preliminary round, thus proceeding to the national final of the competition. As the only finalist from universities of the northeast region, the play is chiefly performed by Zhan Xinlei, Liu Lin and Wang Bing, undergraduates from the School of Foreign Languages of NENU and directed by Qiu Yunlong. This is the first time for NENU's team to take part in the CUSF.
