Recently, NENU's student chorus composed of 48 undergraduates and postgraduates from the School of Music entered the finals of the 14th CCTV Youth Singers Contest under the leadership of their conductor, Associate Professor Yin Zhengwen.
In the contest, the team of Jilin province, led by NENU's student chorus, made its way to the first twelve teams as the only team from the northeastern region after competing through group semi-final and group final. This is the best results that Jilin team has ever achieved in this contest. At the same time, the student chorus of NENU won the 10th place and competed in the individual final of the chorus category.
Moreover, Fan Zheng, an undergraduate of grade 2007 from the School of Music attended the pop category of the contest as representative of Jilin province. He has entered the final of the individual competition in the pop category with a high score of 98.77.
