On September 18, the final of 2010 Chinese Interpretation Cup the first National Interpretation Contest in northeast region was held in Heilongjiang University. Yang Le, undergraduate student of 2007 majoring in international business English from School of Foreign Languages of NENU, got the second place and was on the finalist of the first National Interpretation Contest.
The first National Interpretation Contest was sponsored by Translators Association of China and Higher Education Press. It was hosted by Sichuan University and Beijing International Studies University. The contest adopted the competition system of preliminaries, quarter-final, regional final and national final. 3 participants selected through the preliminaries held by their own universities entered into the quarter-final in their provinces, cities or autonomous regions. The top 6 contestants competed in the regional finals and the top 3 in the national final.
