Recently, entrusted by the organizing committee of National Collegiate Mathematical Modeling Competition, the committee of Mathematical Modeling Specialties of Chinese Industry and Applied Mathematics Institute and the Education Committee, NENU undertook the 12th National Mathematical Modeling Teaching and Application Seminar. Attending the seminar were about 500 representatives from more than 100 universities, including Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Tsing Hua University, Fudan University, Nankai University, People's University of China and so on.
Vice-president of NENU, Liu Chunyi attended and addressed the opening ceremony. President assistant and director of academic administration, Gao Hang presided over the opening ceremony.
Professor Ma zhi'en from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Feng Keqin Tsing hua University, Wu Xizhi People's University of China, and Fan Meng NENU gave reports centering on such themes as, “Research and Practice of Merging the Ideas and Methods of Mathematical Modeling into the College Main Subjects” and “Research of Mathematical Modeling and Problem-driven Applied Mathematics” in the seminar. This seminar also held 11 group sessions and about 70 experts and scholars discussed and exchanged ideas.
