Recently, the Ministry of Education announced winners for the Award for Excellent Young Teachers in institutions of higher learning and also a list of projects for young teachers funded by Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation. Associate Prof. Li Yang from School of Chinese Language and Literature won the third prize ($ 1,000) for Excellent Young Teachers and Prof. Zhang Yang from School of History and Culture got a basic research fund of $ 20,000 for his project "The Cold War, the University and the Social Science Research in United States".
Since its establishment in 1986, Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation has funded nationwide 111 projects for basic research proposed by young teachers in institutions of higher learning, 38 projects for practical application and 102 excellent young teachers.
